With the bad economy my husband and I try to save money wherever we can. One of the many ways we have cut back on our expenses is to cut out yorkie grooming fees. Now, instead of taking him to a professional dog groomer we just do it ourselves. That alone saves us about $60 a month. That’s just one visit per month. Most people take their yorkie to the groomer every two weeks. If this is your case, you’ll save even more than I do!
My yorkshire terrier is so much happier with us grooming him and so am I! I always hated the thought of dropping him off in that crowded room around a lot of barking dogs. He was always so nervous when I left and I always worried if they were gentle and careful when handling him. He is so small and they were always in such a hurry. It would only take a second for their backs to be turned and a large dog hurt him. I REALLY hated having to leave him at the groomer for half a day! Since I have learned yorkie grooming myself, I really can’t understand why it takes the groomers half a day to give a yorkie haircuts when I can do it all in an hour (bath included).
Now, I must admit: I wasn’t quite sure where to start but, me being the type to jump right in, away we went. Well, my husband has a saying:
“Do you know the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut? Two weeks!” ha! ha!
It may be two weeks for a human male but it took a bit longer for that yorkie hair to grow back enough to fix the mess I’d made.
